Host: Jeff Gill Welcome and Opening Remarks · Introduction o Carol Welsh will speak on Native Spirituality · Introduction o William Iseminger, Cahokia Visitor's Center, will speak on Cahokia becoming recognized as a World Heritage Site. · Introduction o Senator Jay Hottinger · Introduction o The 5th grade students and their teachers who initiated state law to recognize Newark Earthworks as Ohio's official Prehistoric Site · Introduction o Panel of Teachers who discuss how they teach about the earthworks Lunch Break · Introduction: Dr. Chad Allen, Department of English, Ohio State University Columbus o Dr. Robert Warrior, English and Native American Studies, University of Oklahoma will speak on Native American intellectual traditions as related to the earthworks · Introduction o Dr. Robert Horn, Earlham College, will speak on lunar alignments at the Newark Earthworks · Introduction o Dr. Ray Hively, Earlham College, will speak on lunar alignments at the Newark Earthworks · Introduction o Dr. Brad Lepper, Ohio Historical Society, will speak about the only artifact found with the Newark Earthworks Complex Concluding Remarks and Closing
